BIPRU 12.2.1RRP

The starting point, therefore, is that each firm must be self-sufficient in terms of its own liquidity adequacy. The appropriate regulator does, however, recognise that there are circumstances in which it may be appropriate for a firm1to rely on liquidity support provided by other entities in its group or from elsewhere within the firm. 1This chapter applies to:(1) a BIPRU firm that is a member of a UK consolidation group;(2) a BIPRU firm that is a member of a non-UK sub-group5; and2(3) [deleted]22(4) a firm that is not a BIPRU firm and is a parent financial holding company in the UK5 in a UK consolidation group.

This chapter does not apply to a firm in BIPRU 8.1.1R (1) to BIPRU 8.1.1R (3) which is a member of the UK consolidation group or non-UK sub-group5 if the interest of the relevant UK consolidation group or non-UK sub-group5 in that firm is no more than a participation.

Part 2 of SYSC 1 Annex 1 provides for the application of SYSC 4.1.1 R and SYSC 4.1.1C R (General Requirements).
