REC 1.1.2GRP
(1) Recognised bodies are exempt persons under section 285 of the Act (Exemption for recognised investment exchanges and clearing houses).(2) UK recognised bodies must satisfy recognition requirements prescribed by the Treasury (in certain cases with the approval of the Secretary of State) in the Recognition Requirements Regulations. The FSA may modify these rules to require the aggregation of transactions in circumstances other than those specified in LR 10.2.10 R.Note: If an issuer is proposing to enter into a transaction that could be a Class 1 transaction or reverse takeover it is required under LR 8 to obtain the guidance of a sponsor to assess the potential application of LR 10.

Under section 148of the Act (Modification or waiver of rules), the FSA may, on the application or with the consent of a firm, direct that certain rules (see SUP 8.2.6 G to SUP 8.2.8 G):(1) are not to apply to the firm; or(2) are to apply to the firm with such modifications as may be specified.
