    136(in relation to an SMCR firm174) a person who has approval under section 59 of the Act (Approval for particular arrangements) to perform a designated senior management function in relation to the carrying on by that SMCR firm174 of a regulated activity.

    A person treated as approved under section 59ZZA of the Act (as treated as being inserted into the Act by the EEA Passport Rights (Amendment, etc., and Transitional Provisions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018 (SI 2018/[1149]) to perform a designated senior manager function is an SMF manager in that capacity.180
