tradable renewable energy credit

    an allowance, licence, permit, right, note, unit, credit, asset, certificate or instrument (the "credit") where:

      1. (a) the credit confers or may result in a benefit or advantage to its holder or someone else; and
      1. (b) the credit, or the benefit or advantage in (a), is linked to the supply, distribution or consumption of energy derived from renewable sources by the holder of the credit or someone else.1
