long-term insurance contract

(1)96 (in accordance with article 3(1) of the Regulated Activities Order (Interpretation: general)) any contract of insurance within Part II of Schedule 1 to the Regulated Activities Order (Contracts of long-term insurance), namely:

1. (a) life and annuity (paragraph I);
2. 15(b) marriage or the formation of a civil partnership and birth (paragraph II);
3. (c) linked long-term (paragraph III);
4. (d) permanent health (paragraph IV);
5. (e) tontines (paragraph V);
6. (f) capital redemption (paragraph VI);
7. (g) pension fund management (paragraph VII);
8. (g) collective insurance etc (paragraph VIII);
9. (h) social insurance (paragraph IX).2

(2) in DISP 2.7.6(14A) a long-term insurance contract does not include:96

1. (a) a with-profits policy;96
2. (b) an industrial assurance policy; or96
3. (c) a policy that is the subject of a trust.96
